Modrock offers:
Staining, countertops, sinks, fireplace, tub surrounds, sinks, stools and more.
What cleaning products do I use to clean my countertop?
Modrock recommends using only mild, non-abrasive, non-ammonia soap for daily cleansing. Suggested products: Simple green (dilute as suggested) Dr. Bronners natural soap (5 parts water: 1 part soap)
Does my countertop have a protective sealant?
Every modrock counter has been sealed and waxed to protect it from staining and moisture. We recommend rewaxing every three months and resealing every two years. Expect your new countertop to develop a patina and improve with time.
Will my countertop crack?
Although not considered a defect, non-structural hairline cracks are possible and may result from shrinkage.
Can I cut on my countertop?
Cutting directly on the countertop surface may scratch the wax and sealer. This could compromise the surface protective layer as well as dulling knives. We recommend using a cutting board.
Is my countertop structurally reinforced?
Yes. Using our own proprietary casting process each piece is custom reinforced with fiberglass creating slabs with extremely high strength while having only half the weight of normal concrete. Cantilevers and spans are possible.
Will my countertop be seamless?
Depending on overall dimensions, joints are often incorporated to accommodate handling. Joints are kept to tolerance of 1/8’ and filled with color matching latex. All joints are carefully considered and contribute to the stone-like quality of the material.
Are there color choices?
We have a line of twelve standard colors, six premium colors and a range of over one hundred other colors. Custom color matching is available. Custom aggregates and inlays are also available. Call to make an appointment to visit our studio or to request samples.
Who will install my countertop?
Although we provide installation services for most of out projects anyone with experience installing stone countertops can install our countertops.
Can I place hot pans on my countertop?
Yes, although we recommend using a trivet because the extremely hot objects may discolor the wax.
Can Modrock Concrete Design make sinks and backsplashes?
Yes, we make a full line of custom integral sinks, drain boards and other features. Backsplashes are made to order at any height and are deck-mounted.
What other products and services does Modrock offer?
Modrock Concrete Design makes custom countertops, kitchen islands, sinks, tabletops, shower pans, bath tub surrounds, fountains, outdoor walls, fire places, fireplace surrounds and hearths. Modrock also offers concrete staining, grinding and polishing.
